I. 词汇
1. lead
(1) vt, vi (led, led leading )
引导;指引;通往,通到;导致;走在前列,(在比赛中)领先经验;过(生活)
He led us to his home. 他把我们带到他家。
The path leads to the village. 这条小路通到那村庄。
All roads lead to Rome.[谚]条条道路通罗马。
After the first half of the race I was leading. 跑了一半赛程后我领先了。

4. experience
(1) n.这词作为可数名词用时,解释为“经历”,作为不可数名词用时解释为“经验”
I had an usual experience yesterday. 昨天我经历了一次不寻常的事情。
He has not enough experience for the position. 对于这种职位,他没有足够的经验。
gain experience in ...获得...经验 learn by [from, through] experience从经验中学到[懂得]
man of experience有阅历[见识]的人
(2)experience可以用作动词
He experienced all sorts of difficulties and hardships. 他经历过一切艰难困苦。
He is much experienced in teaching. 他有丰富的教学经验。

5. struggle
(1) vi.

6. equal
(1) adj. (常与to, with连用)相同的;胜任的;经得起的

John is quite equal to the job of running the office.

(2) n同等的人,相等的人
Let x be the equal of y.设x等于y。

‘x = y’ means that x equals y. “x = y” 就是 x 与 y 相等。
Three and five equals eight. 三加五等于八。
Eight times eight equals sixty-four.八乘八等于六十四。

7. protest
(1)vt, vi(常与against, at, about连用)反对;提出异议;抗辩;抗议
The tourists protested about the bad service at the restaurant.
旅客们对那家饭店低劣的服务表示不满。
The children protested when they were punished unfairly.
当孩子们被不公平地处罚时,他们表示抗议。
They protested with one accord that they had not used any drug.

8. continue

13. judge
(1)n法官;审判员 鉴定人;鉴赏家;〈体〉裁判
I'm no judge of music. 我对音乐是外行。
She's a good judge of wine.她是鉴别酒的专家。
(2)vt, vi审判;审理,裁决;裁判;评论;评判;判断
Who will judge the next case?谁将审理下个案子?
Who's judging the races? 谁是比赛的裁判?
Can you judge which shoes are best? 你能鉴定哪双鞋子最好吗?。
Don't judge by appearances.人不可以貌相。
We can't judge what he really meant by doing so till we know all the circumstances.

14. content

(2) adj. 满足的;满意的;甘愿的
She is content with very little. 她易于满足。
