Step 1.Organizing the teaching
1.Greetings
2.Sing an English song “In The Bathroom”
Step 2. Revision:
Review nouns that form regular plurals with “What’s wrong?”
Step 3.Key concepts: irregular plural nouns
1.Introduce:
a.Remind the Ss about the word “dishes”.Demomstrate by adding es and then saying dishes,boxes,classes,glasses,buses and dresses. Write “box” “class” “bus” and “dress” on the BB.They end in x, s,or sh.If you try to make them plural by just adding s, they are hard to pronounce. In English, it’s easier to say es than s at the end of these words.Demonstrate by adding es.
b.Demonstrate“circle”“line” “squar” “triangle”and“shapes”with the drawing of shapes.
2.Student book:
Play the audiotape as the students follow in their books.
3.Practice:
a.Play “Tic—Tac--Toe”to the practice regular and irregular plurals. Before the students write on the grid, they must say and write the correct plural for nouns.
六.Students’ activity:
1.Sing an English song “In The Bathroom”.
2.Play “What’s wrong ” to review regular plural nouns.
3.Demonstrate the new concepts with the question and answer drill with some volunteers.
4.Imitate the dialogue after the tape recorder with a whole class.
5.Practice the irregular plural nouns with a pairwork.
